Mother’s Day 2022 Thoughts

As we all wake up this morning, we are celebrating our Mother’s and all they do for us. Some of these mothers will be at work today, some will not even receive a phone call from their children.

On days like today, I wish I could pick up the phone and call my mother. When I am out and about, I see children taking advantage of their mother’s kindness. Taking advantage of the love that their mother has for them. All I want to do is tell them to get their head out of their rear and realize how great the gift of her presence really is.

My mother passed away a while back. She was diagnosed with cancer, and about six months later she was gone. I can’t just pick up the phone and hear my mom’s voice anymore. I can’t ask my mom for advice on situations that life throws at me.

However, the one thing that I can do is teach my children to respect and honor their mothers every day. I try to get them to understand the blessing that they have being able to hug their mom and celebrate them on special days like this.

So if you are able to call or even visit your mother today, do it. Go and give her a big hug and tell her thank you for everything that she sacrificed for you. Even if you do not get along with your mother all that well, take a minute to at least call her. Let her know that you appreciate the simple fact that she brought you into this world.

I love and miss you mom. Sorry I was such a shit head for so many years!
